In addition to Acupuncture, I often use a variety of techniques to restore health and wellness and to free the body and mind of pain
Acupuncture, with its origins in China, is a holistic system of healing that is thousands of years old. It is a powerful catalyst for healing, harmonizing and balancing the body mind and spirit.
I have been practicing and studying Acupuncture for nearly 15 years. It is the foundation to all the treatments I provide.
Cranial Sacral Therapy
Cranial Sacral is a gentle yet profound form of fascial release that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. It is effective on releasing compression in these areas and thus alleviating stress and pain.
I find that incorporating Cranial Sacral with Acupuncture is especially helpful in working with headaches, sinus compression, TMJ and general stress and anxiety. I have studied Cranial Sacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute.
Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique that helps to balance the subtle energies within our bodies while addressing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances.
In 1996 I spent half of a year living in India. It was during this time I had the opportunity to extensively study Reiki. There are three levels of Reiki initiation and I was fortunate to receive all three levels. The type of Reiki that I practice comes from the Usui tradition.
Incorporating Reiki into my Acupuncture treatments allows the client to fully relax and receive the benefits of Acupuncture on a very profound and deep level.
Tai Chi & Qi Gong
Tai Qi is a moving meditation that balances and harmonizes the mind, body and spirit. Qi Gong is a holistic system of meditation coordinated with body posture, movement, breathing and stillness.
I have been practicing and studying Tai Qi and Qi Gong for over 20 years and have been fortunate to have studied with many great teachers both in the San Fransisco Bay as well as Shanghai and Chendu, China.
In San Fransisco I had the opportunity to study intensively from 2000-2007 with renowned Qi Gong master Simu Min Ou Yang. I incorporate what I learned with her on a daily basis in my Acupuncture practice. I offer private Tai Qi and Qi Gong lessons. Lessons are one hour long. Beginners are welcome!
